No publicly documented on-prem offering. According to xAI, standard processing takes place in the USA. Business/Enterprise offers a DPA, SCCs, a subprocessors list, a no-training commitment for business data, a security portal, SSO/SCIM, RBAC, custom retention, and, in Enterprise, among other things, a Dedicated Data Plane. The consumer version remains critical for personal or confidential data because training is possible by default unless disabled.


**Conclusion:**

For private individuals and creators, Grok is well usable as long as no sensitive data is entered. For companies, Grok is only seriously assessable from Business/API/Enterprise onward, because that is where DPA, no-training commitments, team controls, and security features apply. For strictly regulated EU organizations, Grok is only advisable after a data protection impact assessment, transfer assessment, subprocessors review, and clear internal usage policies.

For Business/API, xAI states that it does not use business data for model training; according to the Enterprise FAQ, inputs/outputs are automatically deleted unless an exception applies.
