Positive is that Elai provides its own security page, states GDPR and CPPA compliance, describes data deletion and data export in the profile or via an account deletion request, and mentions technical protective measures such as TLS/SSL, encrypted storage on AWS servers, backups, access restrictions, and vulnerability scans. According to the Privacy Policy, Elai is also a subsidiary of Panopto and refers to Panopto’s EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, UK Extension, and Swiss-U.S. DPF certification for international data transfers.
Negative is that, according to Elai, all data including backups is stored in data centers in the USA, operated by providers such as Amazon Web Services and DigitalOcean. According to the security page, Elai processes, among other things, names, email addresses, scripts and texts from the editor/API, uploaded photos, videos, music, as well as video/image material for personal avatars and mascots.
